Devlog 10: All set and ready


ME: Do we have everything?

ME: Good, then all that is left to do is wait for the stars to align.

Hello, Michiel here. This will be the last update where new and major things will be added. Next week we will focus on polishing the game. Anyway, here is the general update:

  • Solved the problem with the player UI resizing.
  • Added backgrounds to victory and game over screens.
  • Victory screen now accurately displays your game statistics (enemies killed, remaining lives, and playtime).
  • Added color change to the pentagram. The more the pentagram changes to blue, the less time remains.
  • Fixed the problem with enemies being unable to damage the decoy player in the pentagram.
  • Added player name display above each player character.
  • Added remaining lives display at the top right of the screen.
  • Attached several VFX (created by Ivo) to players, enemies, and portals.

heyhoi Luca here, the boss actually attacks you now? Yeah i know crazy right ,he will now randomly swap between a sweep or a slam attack, it does need some tweaking that i will do next week. All our characters's animations have been hooked up and are working as they should, except for the ranged enemy that still looks kind of funky.  Next week will be spent mostly fixing the funky animations and doing some balancing.

Casandra speaking! (Well... writing) I had a blast working on all the boss animations this week! I animated both attacks and a general idle. I also added a death, revive and reload animation to the characters! I even finished up the melee texture I had started last week. All in all very productive week :))

Hey, Ivo here! This last week I've been busy adding more details and effects to the level! The well in the center now has an ominous flashing light (I wonder what it could be.....) and there are banners from the cult placed in the level. Also, the torches now have actual fire! The slam attack of the boss has a flashy new effect, and I've made a bunch of smaller effects for when the flashlight runs out of battery, when you damage an enemy etc. Next week the effects will be polished and improved even more!
