Devlog 5: preparing the ritual


Greeting fellow cultist, and welcome to the last cult:

Hi I am Michiel your cult leader for tonight. That, that is Ivo, who is currently setting up the room where the ritual takes place. The person dragging in the unconscious body is Casandra. Don't worry about the body, that will be the sacrifice. Over there is Luca currently busy deciphering the ancient language of C++ in which the ritual is written. If you have any questions ask them and over there is the drinks corner. Stay away from the lemon squares they are laced with poison.

Ok, but now to be serious.

We have moved from the prototype phase to sprint number 1. YIPPEE 

Ivo is currently busy creating the assets for the level. Things like walls, floor and a giant archway leading to another dimension.

Casandra is making the main character model. 


Me, I am busy coding the main character and the controls. Figuring out how to rotate the player took way longer then I would like to admit (and I will never tell, hahaha). So if they do not feel good, let me know. Also, here are the controls.


While Michiel has been busy creating our 2 brave detectives i've been busy creating  a fierce demon army for our detectives for to face, while development has been rough, mainly collision detection in unreal being weird, i have made some progress creating a melee and a ranged enemy. Apart from creating our demon army ive also made sure we can actually have more than just 1 detective to face this army of demons and goons.

The main character is fully modeled with clean UVs! I, Casandra, have made a cute low poly model that is ready to be rigged. There is an alternate head for player 2. For players 3 and 4 the two heads will have to repeat but my headcanon is that they're two sets of twins :) I have also gotten started on the enemy model but most of my time has been dedicated to the main boys this week.

Ivo here, while the others have been hard at work on characters and programming, I've been working on the building blocks and materials for the level. Right now our level have a rectangular shape, but later the blocks could be used together on a  grid to build levels of different shapes and sizes!
